I’m Ben Hunt, founder of Head North Legal.

My path into legal technology began during my time as a commercial real estate lawyer at DLA Piper, where I took a lead championing the use of emerging technology to improve client service delivery. In 2017, I shifted from my traditional lawyer role to help establish the firm's Legal Technology team, focussing on enabling our lawyers and clients to work more effectively with emerging technology.

Later taking on the team’s leadership, I shaped its strategy and operating model, expanded its capabilities, and grew the team to 18 members around the world. As the international firm’s Head of Legal Technology, I led the adoption of legal technology across its 40+ offices and 4,000+ lawyers, overseeing successful implementations of established platforms and AI-powered solutions — working in close partnership with a range of vendors.

After 12 years at a global firm — from practising law to leading legal technology adoption — I now bring that first-hand experience to help law firms, in-house teams, and vendors navigate their own journeys through the legal technology landscape.
